Sadly the rest of this series is more hit or miss which pushes it back but this is still a show I would highly recommend seeing.I will say this about the show, I kinda enjoyed Eric Bauza's take on Stimpy.

The original Ren and Stimpy show is one of my favorite nicktoons ever because of how hysterical it is and the weird, but fun characters and adventures. I have no idea why this show needs to be more than 11 minutes. Onward and Upward could have easily been 11 minutes if they took away the slow paced unfunny scenes. In Ren and Stimpy, it being slow paced is sometimes genius, take Out West for an example, its slow af but the show is aware of it and uses anti humor very well. I will admit the original have its fair share of some slow paced scenes and sometimes even episodes but here's the thing. APC is nowhere near as funny as the OG, its unfunny and just a waste of my time. I think the original Ren and Stimpy is the only show that uses gross out in a excellent way because of the creative usage and the end result. In APC the gross out is just.

APC have like what, one few acceptable episode but everything else my god the bad ones are BAD! The animation is horrible, its choppy, full of animation errors and just unprofessional. It's still not good and have some duds, and its possibly the least 'Ren and Stimpy' season out there because of the very thin plots and taking place at the house for a good chunk of the season.Īdult Party Cartoon: The Ren and Stimpy Show was doing so well, all of its first 5 seasons had some greatness… and then we get this.

They do a better job at the runtime and in general there is a larger amount of jokes than season 4. Not as good as spumco era but still a decent season to end the original show on. I can't say I despise season 4 as it still have some really great episodes, but the writing is much weaker from all the seasons before. This season is so slow and the show is not funny anymore. This season have garbage stories, bad characterization, even worse animation, and poorly drawn visuals. You know what's not fine? The season right after it. But hey, season 3 was still fine at the end of the day. A lot of this section is unremarkable and the only real stand out is Ren's bitter Half which was incredible. But it was running out of steam in the 2nd half with some lazy writing and washed up ideas. ok? Season 3 started out pretty decent, even having one of my favorite episodes 'Stimpy's Cartoon Show.' In some ways, this season felt like the original seasons just with a slight animation downgrade. Definitely worth watching because I love every episode in there. It has the show's best animation, stories, and jokes. Season 2 is one of my favorite seasons of all time. The acting here is top notch, Ren sounds so intimidating and the score is so unsettling, it makes this scene so creepy but also admirable and funny. One of my all time favorite moments is the final 4 minutes in Sven Hoek where Ren goes insane. The voice acting in this show is outstanding, they usually go over the top, its so weird yet hilarious, but in some episodes they could actually have some emotion and make me feel a lot for the characters all joking matter aside (hi Son of Stimpy). The strange comedy in this show is what made Ren and Stimpy so popular, it was really different for the network and could appeal to both kids and adults. Ren and Stimpy are a dynamite duo, very expressive animation, great score, unforgettable side characters, and the best part. This era is one of the funniest shows I have ever watched. The Spumco Era (Seasons 1-2): Absolutely hilarious. I watched the show some more when I got the seasons on dvd sometime in 2017 and marathoned the show.
